Layoff can happen to anyone, but remember that doesn’t mean you are less potential engineer in any terms. Its just that life wants you to grow from here to next level, and we know life has its own way of saying it - the hard way!

In order to prepare for this potential outcome, it is important to have a plan in place. Here’s something I wish I knew tips and strategies during earlier days of career.

Networking is brahmastra with people in your industry. Attend meetups for networking & jobs.
CL-CS: Continuous learning and showcasing skills and technologies to stay competitive in the job market. Focus on the value you can bring to a company and be able to articulate your unique selling points.
Certifications: additional education to demonstrate your expertise in your field in the form of certificates.
Proactive in Job search: Its a full time work TBH and so actively apply for jobs. Understand the current job market trends and adjust your job search strategy accordingly. Don't give up, job search can be a long and challenging process, but persistence and determination are key to success.
Evaluate your layoff probability: Make sure to have a good understanding of your company's performance and industry trends, so you can gauge the potential risk of layoffs.
Be Flexible: Look for opportunities to volunteer or intern to gain new skills and experience. Prepared to accept a lower salary or different job role if needed.
Remote Jobs: Be open to remote or flexible working options, as more companies are implementing these policies.
Evaluate next Employer: Learn about the company culture and values before planning to invest years.
Financial Status: Be financially prepared for the possibility of job loss by building up an emergency savings fund.
